- How recruited:
  - Chozen & Jimmy - The two of you have been in Jigow for a few days after hearing about the annual Festival of Merit. You've spent the past day or so getting the lay of the land and while you were in the Meatwaters (area near docks) with Jimmy a muscled, female orc introduced herself as Paquena. She thought the two of you looked like you made a great team and could maybe help her out. She told you to meet her at the Unbroken Tusk Inn tomorrow evening where should could tell the two of you more.
  - Dmitri - A few nights ago, Dmitri was at the Blushing Bear Tavern. He was enjoying his evening when another patron picked a fight with him. Dmitri was well into his cups but still handled the fight without issue. After the fight was over, Dmitri was approached by a muscled, female orc named Paquena. She told him she was thoroughly impressed and believed she could use his talents if he was interested. She told him to meet her at the Unbroken Tusk Inn in a few nights and she would tell him more.
  - Iris - You arrived in Jigow a few days ago after having a dream from your patron of the town. You faintly remember seeing an elderly orc hunter in your dreams. Upon your arrival in Jigow, you started asking around for information on an elder orc only to find out that there are lots of orcs who live in the city. Last night you were approached by a muscled, female orc who introduced herself as Paquena. She offered to buy you a dinner and the two of you had a great time. You told her that you are just starting to learn more about your magic and she offered to help you find this elderly orc. She also invited you to the Unbroken Tusk Inn tonight. She said to find her and there would be a few other people there as well.
  - Nell - A few days ago, Nell was approached by a muscled, female orc named Paquena. The orc had heard through some friends that Nell is looking to perform at the festival. Paquena told Nell that she could help her get into the festival and handed her an slip of paper. On the slip was written the following, "Meet me for dinner at the Unbroken Tusk Inn in two days time." (this will be the night of our first session). Paquena also mentioned that she hopefully wouldn't be alone that night and looked forward to seeing you there

- Chozen - Bugbear Barbarian. He was a pirate and is friends with Jimmy who saved his life.
- Dmitri - Gnome Fighter. Easy to anger (small man syndrome).
- Iris AppleBottom - Halfling Warlock. Has had dreams of Jigow and just traveled here for the first time.
- Jimmy - Sea Elf Druid. Acts like a Boy Scout in an annoying way. Friends with Chozen.
- ‣ - Human Bard. Orphan that has been “adopted” by a gang

Strong Start

The party will meet Pequena at the Unbroken Tusk Inn. Read the Tavern Troubles box from Great Grung Grab.

Pequena wants them to join together to represent the Norgab Horde in the Festival of Merit. She will get promoted within the horde if they can produce a team that will bring the horde a victory this year.

The sun is setting, and the savory scents of pastries and meats fill the air around the Unbroken Tusk Inn. The inn is a three-storied building mounted on the back of a massive tortoise in the heart of Jigow. This section of Jigow is known as the Jumble. Locals and travelers alike find themselves in Jigow this time of year in anticipation of the annual Festival of Merit.

Inside the inn, there are a variety of patrons ranging from humans to hobgoblins. Nearly every table and chair is filled. A female orc can be seen scurrying from table to table filling orders and passing out drinks. Slightly sweaty, she seems to be incredibly happy to see the inn so full.

At one of the tables near the back is a large, muscled female orc. She has and air of nervous energy as she sits alone anxiously. At his point _____ enters the in. (from here take turns introducing the characters in initiative order & roleplay Paquena’s interactions with them).
